I do love a good Christmas brush kit.
NARS have released images of their Christmas Kabuki kits. A little box containing three gorgeous brushes. Now, I have to see if these have short handles or not because I am weird about buying short handle brushes.....I don't really like them!!!
It is because all brushes go into my kit and I HATE using short handle brushes on clients. I don't know why - I just do.
Anyways, my other concern is that for $149, that plastic box is a bit unfancy. I know this a small thing but I find it a bit.....cheap looking. If I was buying these for a gift, I would be pissed.
I do have to say that most companies (this is not isolated to just NARS) reduce the quality of the brushes in their sets. I do have short handled brushes from a variety of companies which are my personal use brushes for my own make-up. I have often found that the gift set versions are slightly.....not as impressive. Sometimes the fibres are rougher and the cut is slightly more uneven. I also find that the hairs are not as fixed to the brush as they normally are so the brushes cut out sooner.
But then, this only really affects you if your doing hardcore professional make-up. In normal circumstances, a regular person uses these brushes and does a great job with them - I use them on my own face but never a client. It's a great way of getting a play with expensive brushes for a lesser price point.
