Five on Saturday - August 31, 2019

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you all have a great week! I've been getting over a cold all week; but, I'm happy to be going in to a long weekend!

ONE

I purchased everything in this post - this post contains affiliate links

I got my August 2019 Scratch Monthly Mani Kit and it is super cute! I love the little oranges so much! This is an easy, affordable subscription that features nail wraps from GoScrachIt that are exclusive to the kit each month and designed by NinaNailedIt!

The Scratch Monthly Mani Kit is $10.00 US + $4.95 for international shipping! Each month you get an exclusive set of wraps that aren't available for purchase and a few extra little mani goodies!

This month's subscription came with:

  • Orange Blossoms nail wraps
  • Gold accent stickers
I have to say, these nail wraps are easily my favourite nail wraps to use - I have tried quite a few wraps and nothing compares! You can see past reviews and nail looks on Scratch wraps here if you are interested! I can't wait to use these ones!

TWO

This week Mitch and I celebrated our 4th wedding Anniversary and we actually went out for dessert and dinner (and yes, it was in that order!) We went to SugarLip Dessert House and had the most amazing Aurora Shaved Ice - it was so delicious! I need to go back soon and try everything else! Then, we went to Toyko Street Market and had some yummy ramen!

And then right beside both food shops, I stopped by Prairie Bazaar and found this amazing vintage mirror and brush set! How adorable is this set?! I love the hand held mirror and the vintage decorations on the back! Love these!

THREE

And, here is a little recap of my August Monthly Makeup Basket - I will show you what's in my September Makeup Basket next week!
  • Rodial Blusher in Copacabana - this was a carry over from July because I didn't use it that much, but this blush is gorgeous! It's such a warm coral - you can see it in a makeup look here
  • Wet n Wild Color Icon Baked Blush in Don't Flutter Yourself ~ this is a really pretty baby pink - it's not quite a blush on me and is a little more of a topper, but I didn't get a ton of use out of this, I'm still a little unsure, but I will hang on to it for now and will try and use it more often.
  • NYX Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powder in Lavender Steel ~ even though I don't use this a lot, it is a really pretty highlight shade!
  • Wet n Wild Color Icon Rainbow Highlighter in Bronzed Over the Rainbow ~ this is a great, everyday affordable highlighter - it's a really nice, champagney gold and wears well.
  • Wet n Wild MegaGlo Loose Highlighting Powder in "Written in the Stars" ~ this is a super shimmery highlighter - I never reach for loose powders, but this delivers some serious glow when you need it!

FOUR

Last weekend we spent the weekend with our friends and their two little girls at the family cabin in Fairmont and it was lovely! We got lots of kayak time in, the hot springs, and the Invermere Farmer's Market!

And a couple of adorable things I picked up at the Invermere Farmer's Market - this little fox nightlight is a baby gift for a friend's little one and I couldn't resist the little hat for Elliott from Baun Bon (I love her illustrations so much!)

FIVE

And, my Monthly Declutter is just a couple of things - the Wet n Wild palettes are great, but I bought them quite a while ago and these colours are just not for me. The toothpaste is okay too - I've tried another of the Coconut Oil toothpastes and I don't quite love them, plus I've found a brand I really enjoy. And, these Sally Hansen wraps are just old and not really working well anymore, they are kind of breaking and hardening.

I hope you all have a great long weekend!
