Wendy Williams from The Wendy Williams Show is apologizing for making a statement that gay men shouldn't wear women's clothes. Wendy has been in the news a lot recently for her controversial opinions, the latest of which being when she mocked Joaquin Phoenix's cleft lip scar.

Williams has not been making the best impression lately when it comes to living by the golden rule. The Wendy Williams Show is currently airing its 11th season and has been renewed through 2022. The 55-year-old former radio host is known for her over the top antics and opinions, and she most recently made the news for accusing Dancing With The Stars contestant and friend, Christie Brinkley for faking her injuries in order to get her daughter, Sailor Brinkley-Cook, on the show in her place.

Williams has once again stuck her foot in her mouth, according to TMZ. The shock jock has had to apologize for making very insensitive comments about the gay community. During Thursday, February 13th episode of The Wendy Williams Show, she said hurtful comments about the LGBTQ+ community but promised to do better in the future. The host was sharing a segment for Galentine's Day and seemed to go off on a tangent about gay men planning to observe the unofficial holiday. The radio DJ felt that it should only be a holiday celebrated by women.

In a very harsh tone, Williams told her viewers that she did not care if they were gay as they "don't get a [menstruation] every 28 days ... you can do a lot that we do, but I get offended by the idea that we go through something you will never go through." There were audible gasps throughout the audience but the afternoon talk show host continued and said that she was tired of gay men dressing in women's clothes saying, "And stop wearing our skirts and our heels." Almost immediately Williams tried to take the words back that had slipped out of her mouth, saying she did not understand how she had come across the viewers.

While Williams did not mean to cause any harm or to insult a large group of the population, many were offended by her poor choice of words and called her out. Williams' failed apology fell flat and did not resonate with her fans as she tried to explain that she was only trying to start a conversation. The entertainer promised to learn from her mistakes and move forward more positively and constructively, fans will have to watch The Wendy Williams Show to see if she will refrain from sticking her foot in her mouth again.
